The BlackBox 135 is a unique system for high-quality scanning of 35mm film using a DSLR or a mirrorless camera with a macro lens.
The BlackBox 135 set includes everything you need to start scanning your film:

Key features of BlackBox 135
1. Light table
BlackBox 135 features a light table with Color Rendering Index CRI=95, and optimal color temperature 6500K. Diffused light provides homogenous illumination of the film without light fall-off on the ages of the frame. The distance between the film plane and the diffuser is designed to be 4.5mm to put into the out-of-focus area all potential dust particles accumulated on the surface of the light table. The light source is powered through a USB-A cable with adjustable illumination intensity. Powering from a USB charger or a power bank is possible.
2. Film carrier.
BlackBox 135 includes a carrier for 35mm film stripes (6 frames) and a holder for 2 mounted positive (transaperncy) slides. Film carrier ensures that film is not scratched during scanning while keeping it perfectly flat in the focal plane. In contrast to other setups, no leveling or alignment is needed. Ever.
3. Film masking.
BlackBox 135 is built from high-density PLA and ABS materials to ensure stability. Its functional design was created with one purpose - to perfectly mask your film negatives on the light table for scanning. The influence of the ambient light is entirely eliminated.
4. Adjustable height.
BlackBox 135 comes with a set of 6 height extension sections: 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 35mm, 50mm, and 100mm. The extension sections connect with each other using a bayonet lock (insert and twist). They can be stacked in any combination to match the minimum focus distance of your lens. Additional extension sections are available for purchase if needed.
5. Compatible lenses.
Your lens is mounted on top of the BlackBox 135 using a filter thread. Any lens with a filter thread diameter of 67mm, 62mm, 58mm, 55mm, 52mm, 49mm, and 37mm is compatible. Generally, a macro lens with 1:1 magnification is recommended for the best scanning results.
6. Scan anywhere.
BlackBox 135 has a footprint of only 0.7cm x 8.8cm. It doesn't need a PC to operate. You can scan wherever you have a place.
